To create a group: simply visit the Groups page. Anyone can create a group, of which there are two types:
- Closed: This group requires the creator to approve membership before you are able to post to it.
- Open: This group has completely open membership; once you have joined you will be able to post to it immediately.
To Join a group:
- navigate to the groups page, below each group you will see a Join Group link
- Alternatively, if you are on a group moblog, you will see a Join Group link in the sidebar, see here for an example.
To submit to a group:
- If you are using the web form, you will be offered the option to post to any group of which you are a member.
- If you are sending via MMS, you will be provided with a keyword to use with the number you ordinarily post to the site using.
For example: You want to send to the group 'summer of 1986' you would send to:
07786 200 549 with the keyword
sm86 somewhere in the message. This allows the system to know where to place the post, as well as recognise that it is coming from you.
In case of the removal of a group owner, the group will be reattributed to a moderator so its content will not be lost.
